A Soldier's Faith in Jesus

This week we read about a Roman centurion (Matthew 8:5-13), who came to Jesus for help in the healing of his servant.  The centurion believed in Jesus' authority so much that he told Jesus not to come to his house to heal his servant, but to just say the word and it would be done.  The centurion showed so much faith in Jesus that even Jesus was 'astonished'.
We did a history project where we made our own centurion helmets.  Abishai studied some library books on the centurion uniform, then assembled a costume from the materials at hand. The result was a mixture of knight, viking and Roman, lol.

As we read through this chapter book on Roman life, the boys soon discovered that the Romans were a brutal society: a lot of human cruelty.

After schooling one morning, we headed out to play with other homeschooling friends, Lauren, Zac, and baby Tessa (not shown)

Playing a game called Centurion, May I?

Micaiah my puzzler. Short term project: 100 piece dolphin puzzle.
Long term project: 300 piece dog puzzle.  He pieces it together a little at a time.
